A introduction to film genres
The podcast firstly introduces to the audience what is a film genre it is a film category or type of film . Some genes have the same storyline patterns, this is a quicker way of making films which are successful and popular . Genre started to become popular in the 1970s . Many genres include : romance , action, horror and comedy.The terms of genre include:
the use of characters - some featured actors tend to play similar characters according to genre.the themes in genre usually focus on things which affect the world negatively and positively.
iconography particularly western movies use these patterns in their genre.
the mood and the emotional setting in the genre .
The cinematic style is how the film is shot through the camera the podcast explains western films would usually be shot in a dessert during the daytime with cactuses and tumble weeds shot, sci-fi is another example which is usually shot in the night time involvement of heavy use of technology .Detective genres are usually a dark movie with awkward camera angles.

The primitive stage start of a genre , then the patterns continue to a classical stage of genre movie become popular and develops , the revisionist stage of the genre patterns are similar and continue with the iconography . parody stage of the genre is were the genre is similar but the film producers start to create a parody from it . The extension stage is the final stage of film development taking ideas from films and changing the genre slightly making movies more futuristic for example Star wars .more recent films tend to include a genre mixed different genre patterns have become more popular due to more audiences becoming individual.
